San Francisco

What a big day we had! First off, it was an absolutely gorgeous day even though it was a little chilly in the morning. We had purchased tickets for Alcatraz and knew we needed to be at the ferry pier by 9:40am. So, we decided to get up early and have breakfast in the city. After a pleasant Uber ride, we arrived at Mama’s on Washington Square. They opened at 8:00 and there was line before they opened (we were in it). Good food in, what seems to be, an old established San Francisco hot spot. Then it was off to the Pier. Of course, we were early, but we were able to get on an earlier ferry so it all worked out. Alcatraz was interesting. There was even someone there who used to be a prisoner! Put that in the been there done that category. Since we were so far ahead of schedule, we decided to take a bus to Fort Point at the base of the Golden Gate Bridge. Public transportation is just another part of the adventure! It was a beautiful walk from the bus stop down to Fort Point. The various vi...

Pacifica - Day 2

Excellent down day! Beautiful weather here today. We explored Pacifica by foot after our leisurely breakfast in Duette. Then, hung out and watched the surfers while we did some crossword puzzles. Also, tackled some Duette maintenance - lubricated the coach step that goes in and out when we open the RV door, and also did some touch up painting.  Apparently, there are rocks on the road that will chip the paint - go figure!  Also, apparently, J has a hard time backing into our storage unit without running into the walls - go figure again! Luckily, no structural damage, but some loss of paint. We had already purchased some paint touch up tools, and today was the day to use them.  So far, we’ve applied about 4 coats of paint on the minor touch up areas and we are still not done.  Will try further at the next opportunity… Here is today’s photo opp…

First day out on our next adventure! So far, we have all of our underwear and we haven’t broken anything major on the RV - phew!! Today was mostly a travel day. We got a later start than anticipated. We had to deliver golf balls to Mel and Phil (our golfing/golf ball fishing partners) because we heard from the Frog Man that he was here! We delivered 1,630 non-Pro Vs and 375 Pro Vs. Between the 4 of us, the Frog Man paid us $500!! Then it was to the Club for a grand split breakfast burrito before we went to pickup Duette. Of course, once we were there, we realized we’d forgotten a few things, so back home before we hit the road - On the Road Again…Lots of rain, but an uneventful trip up to Pacifica. Except, we did manage to go through 3 counties which meant 3 new library cards - whoo hoo!! Here is the sunset view from our galley…
